Dear Jacques makes designed goods that blur the lines between functional and delightful — because you shouldn’t have to choose between the two.
We believe in yes/and. Beautiful and useful. Thoughtful and playful. Art you dry your dishes with. Stationery that's meant to be doodled on. Things that don't get saved for special occasions, because ordinary Tuesdays deserve something good too.
We also believe that showing up — imperfectly, casually, just because — beats waiting for the perfect moment that never quite arrives. A card sent late means more than the one you never got around to mailing.
No sad beige. No precious objects gathering dust. Just well-designed things that make everyday life a little more fun, a little more colorful, a little more you.
That's the whole idea: make ordinary moments more.
About the Founder:
Mary Wilder is a Bay Area-based artist, strategist, and lifelong lover of cards. She started Dear Jacques because she believed the world needed (she needed) more play, connection, and creativity- all things she hopes her products embody.
She paints and designs all of the products, often pulling inspiration from people and places she loves and doesn’t make anything she wouldn’t use herself.
She named the brand after her dog — despite his name sounding serious and regal, he embodied all the fun and playfulness she wants this business to, and partly because "Dear Jacques" is everything a Dear John letter isn't. Less ending, more keeping in touch. Less we’re-breaking-up more let’s-keep-in-touch. Like all of us, she’s figuring it out as she goes and is glad you’re along for the ride!
